Resumen del proyecto. Breaf Project
Too often in fashion, Africa is immediately associated with animal prints and safari-inspired outfits in dull colors like brown and khaki. International designers seem to be unaware of the the existence of beautiful, bright, and bold prints of various African ethnic groups. My take on the ethnic theme was to use a vibrant African print and the rich, earthy texture of crochet.
The dress I have designed features a Venda print fabric (Venda being an African ethnic group), with crocheted wool shoulder strap and crocheted wool insert beginning at the waist on the right-hand-side. It is accented with purple satin covered buttons along the insert and the sweet-heart neckline is turned over a little on the left to reveal the lining
watercolour pencil, markers, acrylic paint, black fineliner.
